In
an industrial setting, clean air is essential for protection
of electronic equipment and circuits, electrical equipment
such as contact points in switchgear and circuit breakers,
and other sensitive equipment subject to corrosion.
Marc
designs and manufactures gas-phase air filtration systems,
sometimes referred to as chemical air filtration, to eliminate
odors, hydrocarbons and corrosive gases such as H2S, SO2 and
others for virtually any ISA classification.
Gas-phase filtration systems are classified as “cell” systems
for lighter gas concentrations, and “deep bed” systems for
heavier concentrations. Each system contains pre- and post
particulate filters and various bed depths of media such as
potassium permanganate spheres (KMnO4), virgin or activated
carbon granules, or a combination of these.
Cooling
and heating coils can be incorporated into the systems as
well as redundant blowers, HEPA and ULPA particulate filtration,
and other features. Systems can be designed to provide type
X, Y, or Z pressurization.
The VPAX series is specifically designed
to provide a safe, clean indoor environment for RIE and similar
buildings containing computers and other sensitive electronics.
Featuring
twin removable heating and cooling units for full
redundancy, the VPAX incorporates cooling,
heating, and dual pressurization with gas-phase air filtration
into a single system. The system provides
Class I, Division 2 hazardous location positive pressurization
to prevent infiltration of hazardous and corrosive gasses
and reduce the classification inside the building to an ordinary
(non-hazardous) location.
The VPAX is designed to allow for easy installation
and maintenance. The complete assembly is designed for installation
on the exterior of the building. Only the control section
with supply and return air openings penetrates the building
making for a minimal wall cutout. More
information on this unit can be found under "Combination
A/C & Pressurization".
The
DCPX-CF series is a single packaged, fully
redundant cooling, heating, pressurizing and purge system
while incorporating a deep bed scrubber for gas-phase air
filtration into its design. The unit includes particulate
pre-filters, a carbon or potassium permanganate media bed,
re-filters, and final HEPA filters to remove corrosive gasses
and other pollutants. The system also provides positive
pressurization to prevent infiltration ofhazardous and corrosive
gasses and reduce the classification inside the building to
an ordinary (non-hazardous) location.
The
CFSX series is a gas-phase air filtration
unit incorporating one or two blowers and designed to reduce
contaminants and improve indoor air quality by continuous
recirculation of the indoor air. Optional features include
a fresh air inlet to provide a slight positive pressure inside
the closed space. In this case, the outdoor air mixes
with the recirculated air as it passes through the filtration
system. This series can be equipped to provide NFPA
496 pressurization complete with a remote control panel.
The
CFU series is a gas-phase air filtration
cabinet incorporating chemical media cells with prefilter
and final filter and normally without a blower. The
unit is usually positioned next to one air conditioner or
between two air conditioners to filter the outdoor air make-up.
This unit depends upon the air conditioner blower to pull
air from the outdoor air inlet and through the filtration
system. Systems can be designed with a blower incorporated
into the cabinet so as to deliver the make-up air to the air
conditioner(s).
The
DBS series deep bed scrubber is
designed to remove larger amounts of air contaminants and
with greater air flows. Incorporated into the designed
is one or two deep bed hoppers for media bed depths of between
6" and 12" each. Also included are prefilters,
final filters, one or two blowers, duct connections, and a
fresh air inlet hood or stack connection. This unit
is normally free-standing and requires supply and return air
ducts to and from the room. The unit can be equipped
with cooling
coils and can be set up for NFPA 496 pressurization.
