ONSHORE/OFFSHORE
- Explosion proof packaged air conditioners can be designed
for either roof mounting or installation at grade and can
be provided with complete ductwork systems. Larger packaged
units can be designed to cool, heat, and provide Type X, Y,
or Z pressurization. Gas-phase air filtration can be
incorporated into these systems to remove hydrocarbons and
acid gases.
All
units may also be marked with the US and Canadian Class I,
Zone system upon request (example: Class I, Zone
2, group IIB+H2).
Typical
applications include control rooms, switchgear buildings,
motor control rooms, RIE buildings, driller’s cabins,
and many others for both onshore and offshore service.
CSA (C/US)
Certified from 1-1/2
to 20 tons for Class I, Division
2, Groups B, C, D hazardous (Classified) locations,
packaged air conditioners and heat pumps can be furnished
with auxiliary blowers, motorized dampers, electric heat (in
air conditioners), thermostatic controls, control panels for
pressurization and/or timed lead-lag for redundant air conditioners,
and many other features to satisfy customer needs in heating,
cooling, humidity control, pressurization, etc. Options
include the Marc protective coating or stainless steel cabinet
and coil coating for corrosion prevention.
IEC Zone
2 - The PACF series is similar
to the PACX except that it is designed for use in IEC Zone
2 hazardous areas. Although they do not bear the CE
mark or A.T.E.X. certification as required for installation
in the European Union, they are intended for use in other
countries that prefer the IEC methods of protection.
The PACF series air conditioners are certified to conform
to Zone 2 requirements by Marc Climatic Controls and all applicable
Certificates of Conformity will be provided for components.
These air conditioners are not for installation in
North America.
Custom
units can be designed and manufactured to comply
with special customer requirements. Packaged units can
be designed and furnished to provide dual air conditioning
and ventilation systems in a single cabinet. The DPAX
series shown at the right was designed for use with
analyzer shelters to provide 100 percent redundant air conditioning
and heating with gas-phase air filtration for the make-up
air, dehumidification, humidifiers, and dual ventilation blowers.
Two explosion proof disconnects were installed on each
cabinet. With dual built-in control sections, each unit
was provided with a separate thermostatic control panel for
mounting inside the shelter. Each unit was CSA certified
for Class I, Division 2, Groups B,C,D hazardous (classified)
locations.
