Unit coolers, also referred to as evaporators, are CSA (C/US) Certified for hazardous (Classified) locations:

• Class I, Division 2, Groups B, C, D, or
• Class I, Division 1, Groups C, D

Condensing units up to 20 tons are CSA (C/US) Certified for Class I, Division 2, Groups B, C, D hazardous (Classified) locations.

Explosion proof Unit coolers are low and medium temperature fan-forced refrigeration evaporators typically for use in hazardous chemical storage rooms. These are coupled with a remote-mounted condensing unit.  A complete system can be provided with an explosion proof thermostat or with Nema 4 temperature controls (to be purged or installed in an unclassified location.)
