Explosion proof wall mount air conditioners are typically mounted on an exterior wall of a shelter or building .  Larger, heavier units also require bottom support.  The installation is simplified and requires no duct work for most applications. Fieldwork is minimized as the building can be shipped with the wall mount air conditioner installed and wired.

Models can be furnished for Class I, Division 2 - or - Class I, Division 1 hazardous locations. Other models are available with only the condenser (outdoor) section Division 2 rated when used on a pressurized building such as a switchgear or MCC building with an unclassified interior.  Class II, dust-ignitionproof wall mount air conditioners are also available.

CSA (C/US) Certified - Our hazardous location wall mount air conditioners are CSA (C/US) certified in sizes 1½ to 6 Tons in the following series (1 Ton also available in most series):

• WCBX – Class I, Division 2, Groups B, C, D  (also marked Class I, Zone 2, Group IIB+H2 upon request)

• WCBX-H – Division 2 with Electric Heat   (also marked Class I, Zone 2, Group IIB+H2 upon request)

• WCBX-C1 – Class I, Division 1, Groups C, D  (also marked Class I, Zone 1, Group IIB upon request)

• WCBX-C12 – Division 1 Indoors/Division 2 Outdoors   (also marked Class/ Zone upon request)

• WHPX – Heating, Cooling, & (NFPA 496) Pressurization.  Look for this product under Combination A/C & pressurization.

Options include electric heat, corrosion coatings on coils and cabinets, stainless steel cabinets, grille-mounted thermostats, auxiliary blowers, stacks, 50 or 60 HZ, and many others.

IEC Zone 2 - The WCBF series is similar to the WCBX except that it is designed for use in IEC Zone 2 hazardous areas.  Although they do not bear the CE mark or A.T.E.X. certification as required for installation in the European Union, they are intended for use in other countries that prefer the IEC methods of protection.  The WCBF series are certified to conform to Zone 2 requirements by Marc Climatic Controls and all applicable Certificates of Conformity will be provided for components.  These air conditioners are not for installation in North America.
